About Us

Where did the idea come from?

First of all, welcome you to the Miri City Official Site. Back to year 2005, after i came back Miri from somewhere i start to wondering why there is not such official page about miri. We all know that Miri is going forward as tourist city and it is still very green about online resource especially for the visitor.

It was some initiative to engage some local talent which so many name i need to mention but i properly will do that next time.With the hard work of those voluntary teammate, the first site was launched before first Miri City Day although there are still some unfinished area. But this site was launched. Later on, because of usual cycle of life, everyone were busy and the site were quiet again once.

We need you

For me, I always believe that there are a big group on Miri online community where seeking for a place where they wish to see more about their city news, community resource sharing and so on. So I took most of the part of my time in 2007 & 2008 to go on and finished the remaining work plus a lot of enhancements by myself. At this very moment, this site have to run by its own funding from some commercial and others.

I need to stress that this site is still growing and I am always welcome for comments; also I am also seeking for people who want to be the part of the online community to share things together with. To expand, Miricity.com.my is a local community dream, not just only mine, where I wish people who use this as a online centralize media where people could talk about and be constructive toward for the city development and entertainment. about schools in miri ?

i have done my O levels and now i m result awaiting student but further more i want to study in miri as my family wants to settle there. will any body tell me about schools in miri which offers A levels from Cambridge University or Edexcel and also want some information about hostels. i ll be grateful to u. thanks in advance

Your website is certainly great and you are in the right direction. You call for participation in your website is the way forward. Aggressive promotion involving the residents of Miri in public areas, radio and other mass media available to Miri would be exciting. Positive results would be realised. Creating the chat room for chatters will further promote the site and Miri.

All the best to your efforts. Look forward to meet you one day in my first ever trip to Miri.
